Donor Stewardship Mailings

Monthly thank you mailings for donors of the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Syrian Student Initiative.

Completed: Summer 2013 (approx. five  months)
Project Type: Print communication
Project Role: Designer, fabricator
Collaborator: Office of the Vice Provost - Student Access, Success, and Diversity Initiatives

The Office of the Vice Provost - Student Access, Success, and Diversity Initiatives requested assistance developing communication pieces for their IIT Syrian Student Initiative program. These were sent to donors who contributed funds to assist high-achieving students affected by the conflict in Syria in continuing their education at the Illinois Institute of Technology. These mailings included a greeting card, personal reflections from students, and other news of accomplishments. I designed, fabricated, and developed the language for the greeting cards; collected student reflections; and ensured the project stay on schedule. The result is a series of mailings that feel personal to each donor (although they were sent to many people).

Methods/Softwares Used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, laser cutter

Team Tati Cycling Kit

Cycling kit for 2012 season

Completed: January 2012
Project Type: Print design
Project Role: Illustrator, designer
Collaborator: Tati Cycles

Worn by Team Tati members while competing at cycling events throughout the year. The necessity for visibility was a large factor in the design. Team members need to be able to spot each other in a large field of riders. The design includes the team color (orange) and the Team Tati’s talisman, Monsieur Hulot. It also pays homage to the team’s nostalgic francophilic culture by showcasing french companies as sponsors.

Musette

Musette bags for Tati Cycles

Completed November 2013

Role: Designer / Fabricator

A musette is a small bag used to hold the food and drink given to cyclists during long road races. I made a small batch of musettes for local bicycle retailer, Tati Cycles to sell at his shop. Traditionally, musettes are made of light-weight cotton (in order to be discarded easily). This version is made from a heavy-weight cotton canvas with a bright orange polypropylene strap.

You can purchase yours here.

ARCH 470 - "Image City: Meditation of Space"

This is a video made for the Spring 2010 "Image City" class at the IIT College of Architecture. We were instructed to make
"A visual essay on the city, on an urban topic, or with an urban context; the medium of your choice: photography, videography, claymation, PowerPoint, Flash, etc. I will accept visual forms that you propose outside of this limited list, if you demonstrate your capacity or talent to employ them."

I chose the topic "storytelling" - inspired by the format This American Life uses for their weekly radio shows.
