A musette is a small bag used to hold the food and drink given to cyclists during long road races. I made a small batch of musettes for local bicycle retailer, Tati Cycles to sell at his shop. Traditionally, musettes are made of light-weight cotton (in order to be discarded easily). This version is made from a heavy-weight cotton canvas with a bright orange polypropylene strap.
Worn by Team Tati members while competing at cycling events throughout the year. The necessity for visibility was a large factor in the design. Team members need to be able to spot each other in a large field of riders. The design includes the team color (orange) and the Team Tati’s talisman, Monsieur Hulot. It also pays homage to the team’s nostalgic francophilic culture by showcasing french companies as sponsors.
